Porto Femme Festival, neste mês de março, promove para além de sua sessão habitual na última quarta-feira do mês, dois encontros como parte do programa paralelo da exposição RIVVA, patente na sala de exposições e na oficina. Além das curtas, haverá momento para conversa com público e convidados.

“No final, a alma quer seguir o corpo. O corpo quer seguir a alma.” Balian Buschbaum.  Este pequeno retrato documental é um impulso instigante. Conhecidos documentários de TV que lidam com o tema transgênero, sempre têm esse caráter voyeurístico, embora eles realmente tentem ser iluminadores de certa forma. O ELI mostra uma visão íntima e honesta do mundo intelectual de uma pessoa trans *. O meu pequeno retrato documental é uma mistura das minhas próprias tomadas e material de arquivo.

“In the end your soul wants to follow your body. Your body wants to follow your soul.” Balian Buschbaum. My short documentary-portrait is a thought-provoking impulse. Known TV documentaries dealing with the topic transgender, always have this voyeuristic character, though they actually try to be illuminating in a way. ELI shows you an intimate and honest look in the intellectual world of a trans* person. My short documentary-portrait is a mixture of my own takes and archive material.

Biografia | Biography

Lumen Nguyen nasceu em 1992 em Goslar e cresceu em Mönchengladbach. Em 2012 iniciou estudos em design de comunicação na Universidade de Applied Scienes - HAW Hamburg. ELI- A RETRATO é o seu filme de formatura. Lumen faz fotografias instantâneas e filmes.

Lumen Nguyen was born 1992 in Goslar and grew up in Mönchengladbach. 2012 she began her studies in communication design at the University of Applied Scienes- HAW Hamburg. ELI- A PORTRAIT is her graduation film. Lumen makes instant photographs and films.

Rose é uma transexual e cantora. Após o seu último concerto, ela tem de pegar um comboio para começar uma vida mais estável. Incapaz de chegar à estação devido a uma grève, o seu destino cai entre as mãos de Paul, um pescador local, o único que pode ajudá-la a atravessar.

Rose is a transsexual and singer. After her last concert, she must take a train to start a more stable life. Unable to reach the station due to a strike, her fate falls between the hands of Paul, a local fisherman, the only one who can help her crossing over.

Depois de dois anos estudando teoria do cinema, Camille Farnier decidiu explorar o lado prático e, para isso, ingressou na 3iS School na seção de direção. «Oyster'Digression» é a sua primeira curta-metragem. Trata de como sonhos e ambições numa perspectiva muito humana e excêntrica.

After two years studying theory of cinema, Camille Farnier decided to explore the practical side andjoined 3iS School in the directing section. «Oyster’Digression» is her first short movie. It treats of dreams and ambitions in a very human and eccentric perspective.

Sinopse | Synopsis

Selma é uma mulher trans que construiu sua vida afastada da família. Um dia recebe uma chamada para ir ao encontro da sua mãe idosa, que sofre de Alzheimer e precisa de tratamento. Nesse encontro, perdidas entre memórias confusas, as duas mulheres lembram dores e desejos esquecidos, e revisitam culpas e afetos perdidos. 

Selma is a trans woman who built her life away from the family. One day she gets a call to go to her elderly mother, who suffers from Alzheimer's and needs treatment. In this encounter, lost in confused memories, the two women remember forgotten pains and desires, and revisit lost guilt and affection.

Cineasta, produtora e videomaker, estudou cinema e vídeo na Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina. Seu curta de estreia, O corredor, foi realizado quando ainda era estudante e conquistou 10 prêmios em festivais nacionais. Com Isto não é um Filme, ficou entre os finalistas do AXN Film Festival, exibindo seu curta em toda América Latina. Com o curta Selma depois da Chuva percorreu 12 países e ganhou 6 prêmios, entre eles melhor direção no Mix Brasil e Curta Taquary. Coordenou, produziu e co-dirigiu durante 3 anos séries docs para a afiliada da Rede Globo em Santa Catarina (NSC-TV). Seu trabalho concentra-se na direção, produção, direção de arte e figurinos de ficções e documentários, para Cinema e Tv, tendo produzido mais de 20 curtas, médias docs, longas e séries. É sócia-fundadora da Vinil Filmes, uma das produtoras mais atuantes de Santa Catarina. Atualmente está finalizando seu primeiro longa doc Tio Tommy e desenvolvendo seu primeiro longa ficção Sangue de Groselha.    

Filmmaker, producer and videomaker, Loli studied cinema and video at the University Sul de Santa Catarina. Her debut short, O corredor, was made when she was still a student and won 10 awards at national festivals. With Isto não é um filme, she was among the finalists of the AXN Film Festival, showing her short film throughout Latin America. With the short Selma after the Rain, she toured 12 countries and won 6 awards, among them best direction in Mix Brasil and Curta Taquary. She coordinated, produced and co-directed documentary series for 3 years for the affiliate of Rede Globo in Santa Catarina (NSC-TV). Her work focuses on direction, production, art direction and costumes for fictions and documentaries, for Cinema and TV, having produced more than 20 shorts, medium docs, features and series. She is a founding partner of Vinil Filmes, one of the most active producers in Santa Catarina. She is currently finishing her first feature film Tio Tommy and developing her first feature film Sangue de Groselha.

Sinopse | Sinopsis

Alicia (39) é costureira. Trabalha desenhando e confeccionando roupas femininas, mas por trás dos tecidos esconde o segredo do próprio corpo; o incômodo e desconformidade que ela sente com ele após ter sido mastectomizada em decorrência de câncer de mama. Após a inundação acidental de seu apartamento, ela conhece Lúcia (41), uma mulher transexual que é sua nova vizinha. Apesar do primeiro encontro tenso que elas têm, essas mulheres se encontram novamente e começam a passar mais tempo juntas. Conforme o dia e a noite passam, elas começam a se reconhecer, ajudando uma à outra. Com o amanhecer, as duas mulheres encontrarão cura e liberdade no meio do mar.

Alicia (39) is a seamstress. She works designing and making women's clothing, but behind the fabrics, she hides the secret of her own body; the nuisance and disconformity that she feels with it after having been mastectomized as a result of breast cancer. After the accidental flooding of her apartment, she meets Lucia (41), a transsexual woman who is her new neighbor. Despite the tense first encounter they have, these women meet again and start spending more time together. As day and night pass, they begin to acknowledge each other, helping one another. With the dawn, both women will find healing and freedom in the middle of the sea.

Katherina Harder Sacre (33), diretora de Cinema e TV, formada pela Universidade do Chile e mestre em Direção de Cinema pela Escola Bande à Part em Barcelona. Co-Fundadora e Diretora Artística do Festival Internacional de Cinema de Iquique - FICIQQ, com mais de 12 anos de existência. Diretora do premiado curta-metragem Guiding Sights (título original Memorias del viento) vencedor como Melhor Curta-Metragem no FICValdivia 2011, indicado ao Pedro Sienna Awards 2012 e selecionado em mais de 35 festivais internacionais, incluindo FICGuadalajara, DocumentaMadrid, Huesca, FIC Monterrey, Camerimage, entre outros. Com apenas 24 anos, dirigiu no canal TVN a bem-sucedida série 4to Medio, produzida pela PAROX, que teve duração de duas temporadas. Participou dos workshops de roteiro e de técnica de direção de atores Sanford Meisner na EICTV, Cuba. Em 2013 participou do campus de talentos do BAFICI e em 2020 foi selecionada para a Locarno Industry. Atualmente desenvolve projetos no Chile e na Espanha, onde fundou e atualmente dirige o Festival Internacional de Cinema de Idosos de Barcelona. No Chile, está finalizando seu novo curta-metragem Desert Lights e desenvolvendo o roteiro de seu longa-metragem Children of the wind, vencedor do fundo de desenvolvimento do Chile e premiado no SANFIC15 na seção Santiago Lab com o prêmio FICGuadalajara Ibero-American Co-Production Meeting. Recentemente, também foi cofundadora da produtora Volcánica Filmes, cujo objetivo é fortalecer a produção cinematográfica no norte do Chile.

Katherina Harder Sacre (33), Film and TV director, graduated from the University of Chile and Master degree in Film Directing at Bande á Part school in Barcelona. Co-Founder and Artistic Director of the Iquique International Film Festival – FICIQQ, which has more than 12 years of existence. Director of the award-winning short film Guiding Sights (original title Memorias del viento) winner as Best Short Film at FICValdivia 2011, nominated to Pedro Sienna Awards 2012 and selected in more than 35 international festivals including FICGuadalajara, DocumentaMadrid, Huesca, FIC Monterrey, Camerimage, among others. At just 24 years old, she directed the successful television series 4to Medio on TVN channel, produced by PAROX, which ran for two seasons. Attended the workshops of script and the Sanford Meisner technique of actors direction in EICTV, Cuba. In 2013 she participated in the talent campus of the BAFICI and in 2020 she was selected to Locarno Industry. She is currently developing projects in Chile and Spain, where she founded and actually directs the Barcelona International Film Festival of the Older Adults. In Chile, she is finishing her new short film Desert Lights and developing the script for her feature film, Children of the wind, winner of the chilean development fund and awarded at SANFIC15 in the Santiago Lab section with the FICGuadalajara Ibero-American Co-Production Meeting award. Recently, She also co-founded the producer company Volcánica Films whose objective is to strengthen the cinema production in the northern area of Chile.
